Sefat Emet. Shanghai, 1943. Signature of the Admo"r of Lublin
Sefat Emet on Seder Kadshim by the Admo"r Rabbi Yehudah Aryeh Leib of Gur. Published by the "Mefitzei Ohr" printing committee at the Chachmei Lublin yeshivah. Shanghai, 1943. Penciled signature on the leaf preceding the title page 'Avraham Eiger Warsaw,' and stamp: 'Avraham Eiger, son of Rabbi Sh., grandson of the rabbi of Lublin, zy"a.'
There is an interesting introduction at the beginning of the volume, written in Shanghai on Thursday, 5 Shevat 1943, the author's yahrtzeit. Rare book, listed in the Bibliography of the Hebrew Book according to a copy at Mossad HaRav Kook.
The Admo"r Rabbi Avraham Eiger of Lublinֲ [1917-2003] was the son of Rabbi Shlomo Eiger of Lublin and a direct paternal descendant of Rabbi Akiva Eiger. Rabbi Avraham studied at Yeshivat Chachmei Lublin. During the Holocaust, he moved to Shanghai with the Admo"r of Amshinov's family. He ascended to the Land of Israel and served as the Admo"r of Lublin in Bnei Brak in his father's place. He was known for his humility to such a point that the tzaddikim of his generation compared his humility to that of his grandfather, Rabbi Akiva Eiger. His son-in-law is the Admo"r of Amshinov, shlit"a.
