A rare and unique document in which are listed names of Yeshivot, organizations and various groups who received money from the 'Chaluka' of the Va'ad HaKlali (which was donated by the rich man Neimark). Next to each name is the signature of the director of the institution, and sometimes also the institution's stamp appears. 1909.
Amongst the signees are great rabbis of Jerusalem, amongst them: The Rishon L'Zion Rabbi Nachman Batito, Rabbi Yaakov Meir Sonnenfeld "on behalf of my father, master and teacher" [Rabbi Yosef Chaim], Rabbi Meir Heller (one of the great Zealots of Jerusalem), Rabbi Rafael Avraham Chaim David Shkalal, Rabbi Eliyahu of Arder, Rabbi Binyamin Chaim Hacohen Sassover and many more.
It is interesting to note that amongst the signees of this document are two of the great rabbis of Jerusalem: Rabbi Yitzchak Yerucham Diskin and Rabbi Menachem Natan Auerbach. This period was the middle of a long-term disagreement between them, and the flame of argument excited the city of Jerusalem. The rare document before us is the only one of its kind in with both of them signed on it!
On the document also appear the signatures of the important activists of Jerusalem: Rabbi Avraham Yochanan Blumenthal, Rabbi Chaim Michel Michlin and Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Ben Tovim.
Stamps (in the form of handwriting) of Rabbi Naftali of Amsterdam (one of the heads of the Mussar Movement) and Rabbi Aryeh Leib Dayan tzedek.
Signatures of four important women.
A partial list of the institutions which are mentioned: Meah Shearim Yeshiva, Ohel Moshe Yeshiva, Misgav Ladach Hospital, Hachnasat Orchim Meah Shearim, Talmud Torah Sha'arei Zion, Beit Moshav Zekeinim, the Diskin Orphanage, Beit HaTavshil HaGadol in Jerusalem. "Ezrat Nodadim" (a completely unknown institution!) and more.
In total there are 28 signatures and 6 stamps on the document.
The document is written on both sides of a piece of paper.
